Richard Machado
Richard Machado founded Hawthorn Commercial Investments - The Buyer’s Agent in 1986. A commercial buyer agency firm which later evolved into Fidelis, The Buyer’s Agent, a commercial and residential agency. The firm has been practicing exclusive buyer agency in the Greater New Bedford area since 1990.
Richard was appointed by Governor William Weld to the Massachusetts Real Estate Review Board in 1991, the youngest person ever to hold that prestigious position. He continued to serve with distinction in that paid consultancy through the year 2000. The real estate review board is an independent civilian oversight of the eminent domain takings done by the state of Massachusetts, and is/has been responsible for reviewing all land takings in excess of $100,000 associated with the Central Artery/Tunnel project, the largest construction project in U.S. history.
